Shut my service off 2 days late

I missed my payment by 2 days for 130 dollars. They shut my gas off and forced me to pay an 89 dollar reconnect fee and a 380 dollar deposit. I was 2 days late and my account had no previous balance due. They acted like I hadnt paid my bill in months. 2 days late....really? I cant stand this company. Worst experience ive ever had. Ive been a customer in the same house for 5 years.

LOL, Right now I am kind in the same spot. I know I am lately, however I do paid.

I owned them $298.00. Moreover I decided to go for a budgeting with them. The first pay I paid $200.00, therefore I owned them $90.00. My payment it was supposed to be $70.00.

Well, since I paid $200.00 instead $70.00. So, last month I miscalculated so I decided to pay $50.00, which leaves me with $20.00 for the whole month of July. I just got a shutoff notice that I owned them $375.00 if I can’t came up with the money in August 8(I thinking) they will shut off my gas.

Just because I only could pay $50.00 out of my $70.00 bill. I was told when I signed up they said if I can’t pay then I won’t be able to get another budget planned, they never said They would robbery a disable person.

How the *** do you find your shut off date

Basically i bird brained and paid my bill a total of 4 days past the due date. My bill was under $27 and i have been a customer for over 13 years. I literally cannot find the shut off date. I cannot find shut off policy. On my bill it says there will be a 5% fee after the due date, nothing about shut off (apparently that only lasts 3 days). Anyways they shut me off 4 days late and right at the end of their office hours. In regard to shut off date, how long they typically wait: The notice says nothing. The app says nothing. The website says nothing. I recieved no notice and was blind sided. Definitely not a great idea to list a 5% fee after the due date which would leave one to believe they could wiggle a few days but not list a shut off date especially if shut off is 4 days later with no notice. No bueno. I would switch companies if i had the option.

Train Your Drivers

On May 30 near Rte 30 and Ragged Edge rd in Chambersburg PA at about 2010hrs . One of your drivers of a suv with the last 4 of 8495 on the license plate and with Columbia Gas on the drivers side door, and with safety reflective tape on the bacwhile driving in the vicinity stated above was aggressively tailgating and illegally changing lanes. He was definitely putting the public at risk while advertising your company. I have video of some of the aggressive driving if needed. I would expect a company of your size would be interested in keeping the rates down for all services you provide. In a proper business model, this is a risk you should cover before a tragic crash (no such thing as traffic accidents, they can all be avoided) causes a significant financial loss and passing that cost to your customers.

Pestering customers

Columbia Gas - Pestering customers
I decided in fall 2018 to discontinue using my home furnaces. I decided to use electric as my only source so i could cut down on bills. All through the winter they pestered me to use their gas for heating. My home was warm enough using electric. Today may 11,2019 i receive a letter saying they need to come out and do an inspection of my gas appliances. I havent used gas appliances ever just the furnace. They have driven me crazy. I have doctors appointments and work i have to do. I dont have time for this. I told them to remove service just so i dont have to do with them.

Utility Insurance

Utility insurance company Columbia Gas Ohio collects premium for says they didn't get premium from Columbia for coverage 12-2018 and 1-2019. Columbia says they paid them for those dates but says they can't call insurance company on Dads behalf. So my 89 yr old Dad is caught in the middle trying to prove Columbia gas paid the insurance co. How's he supposed to do that?

Columbia Gas put Avalon on my gas account illegally in October 2018 to Jan 2019. Avalon took me to court for speaking and exposing their wrongdoings. Avalon's case was dismissed without predujice. Prynnehills the new manager seemed to be the same in actions as Avalon only to change their name overcharging tenants/ scamming. Columbia Gas is my company so why did you put Avalon on my account with out my permission. This matter is being notified to various organizations and governmental offices.

Lazy crooks

Here we go I'm a business owner in Suffolk Va. Had service moved there was a meter in new location assumed it was for heat. Had connected turns out I don't need it. after six or seven months they said meter they put in was bad sent someone out to replace. Then the 700 plus estimated bill. Ok getting interesting, few months later they replace meter again the tech went looking for cut off valves and there are none we have nothing running on gas, the first tech should have told us so $922.62 cents for nothing I,m still getting collection notices for $13.98. WHO OWES WHO ??

Stole my tools!

Had teams of contractors in my garage tearing it apart during this crisis and had to be relocated, came back to access the damage, flooded, the place and tools are missing. I can’t believe this, they need to go.

No show...TWICE

I called and scheduled to have our downstairs apartment gas turned on so that my contractor could do work untilwe moved a tenant into the apartment. Appointment scheduled...no show. I call the next day, get another date scheduled, waited at the apartment all day phone in hand, no show. Both times I had my phone always with me, answered every single call, and I was onsight, as well as having my contractor onsight to back up these facts. The technician just plain never called or showed. What a waste of time and total *** They know that they have you at their mercy too, what are your options?

Poor company

I have never paid for gas in my life. This company has horrible customer service and charge for every little thing. $90 for next day appts. with no guaranteed time frame. $75 to light your stove for you on top of $96 upfront deposit. And whatever other fees that were just ran down. If I have to deal with this company next year also, I will not renew my lease at my complex. Poor experience with young people who’s probably not even paying bills yet.

No system for getting gas back on

I need to have my gas turned back on and my appliances tested. I called to schedule an appointment and the only thing that I was told was that I need to be home and if they would give me no idea when they would be there between now and the next couple of weeks. I need to work. I need to leave the house to find a warm shower. I need to leave the house for meals. I was told that if I miss the gas company they will leave a note on my door and I will have to start the process over again. This is on except a bowl with no consideration of homeowners. A fifth grader can schedule the cruise within certain working districts and give the consumer a window.

OMFG they suck ***

So this is gonna be a *** rant just a heads up!!! About 10 years ago maybe more , time flies. They sent me a notice they need to change my meter and to call to set it up. Week later they swap it out all good. Not 2 hours later I go out to leave.the house and as soon as I walk within 20 feet of my meter I get a whiff or gas. Nah can't be. Sure enough he GD thing is leaking. Unbelievable. So they come out and fix it. Wow did I just dodge being blown to *** So again they need to swap the meter few years later. They took it upon themselves to just do it without telling us this time. I have radiant floor heat so if there is an issue it takes about 24 to 36 hours for the entire house to cool down. Working 60 plus hours 6 days a week I come home Saturday night and the house is 60 degrees it's been a below 10 degrees for three days straight with three more forecasted. I come home at 7 p.m. and immediately have to deal with having no heat. After tryimg to fix and diag myself with a.good friend till 11:30 we finally decide it must have to do with the meter outside. No way I said, why would that be? Whatever I'll go look. Sure as *** there is a F#ck!n lock on my meter in now sub zero temps. I was fuming as I called Columbia standing outside in the dark. They said they wluld send somebody out in a few hours. I just lost it on them. So apparently they left a notice on our front door to call them to have the gas turned back on after the meter swap. We use that door maybe once month. We could have had burst pipea.who knows. What if we were on vacation? Later I was told they arent supposed to shut people off at all after mid Oct. as a company policy never mind mid Nov. in a cold snap. They suck. Hmmmm what do you do. It's a monopoly.
